When I walk the Upper Round Road on the island of Nevis, where my family visits often, I am transported. The volcano to one side, the sea spread below. Monkeys scamper by as I explore the rain forest, past sugar mill ruins and plants in glorious bloom.

“Away” can be near or far, overseas or a few towns over. After all, travel is not about distance. It’s about mindset. Experiences. Emotional payoff. Joy.
